LOS ANGELES - West Coast upscale electronics retailer Good Guys Inc. (NASDAQ:GGUY), saying it wants to be known as a friend to its customers, has unveiled a prototype retail outlet in suburban Los Angeles. The new store features expanded merchandise information and kiosks to promote specific product lines.
Good Guys Beverly location offers eight touch-screen kiosks and three gaming modules that showcase gaming platforms by Sony and Nintendo. Good Guys said the kiosks are part of a test program.
The store, which was designed by WinnTech Digital Systems Inc., also features interactive displays and in-depth information on practically every item available at the store. Company officials said the information is designed to better inform shoppers of their choices.
"This new design emphasizes Good Guys's distinctive selection of the latest digital and high-tech products and plays to the strength of our product specialists," Cathy Stauffer, Good Guys executive vice president of merchandising and advertising, said in a news release.
Good Guys, which was launched in 1973, currently has 79 stores in California, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington.
