ROSWELL, Ga. -- Will shoppers actually dig into their wallets this year and next? Retailers seem to think so. According to the National Retail Federation, experts see a continued upswing in sales through at least the first two quarters of the coming year.

That message will be echoed at GlobalShop 2004 in Las Vegas, March 22-24, 2004, as more than 25,000 professionals from all walks of the retail and brand marketing industries gather at the world's largest annual store design and in-store marketing event.

The show will be held at The Venetian Sands Expo Convention Center. Doug Hope, group vice president of VNU Expositions and show director of GlobalShop, said in a news release, "Our 2004 conference provides attendees with the most up-to-date, comprehensive series of seminars in the industry. The sessions deliver cutting edge information on the latest advancements in consumer shopping behavior, retail trends, demographic studies and industry forecasts."

The Digital Store section of the show floor will cover new technologies, including interactive displays, kiosks and multimedia, as well as hardware and software.

Aisles of the expo hall will be filled with everything from shelving systems, showcases and checkout systems in the Store Fixturing Show, to the breakthrough point-of-sale and in-store merchandising techniques and services showcased at the POP Marketplace. Signage, graphics, forms, props and other tools to enhance brand identity will be presented at the Visual Merchandising Show.
