GK Software intros self-checkout solution

The Germany-based company GK SOFTWARE AG announced the release of a self-checkout option that is built around its standard GK/Retail POS and adaptable to a range of hardware combinations. 

The solution guides consumers through the scanning and payment process, the announcement said. In addition, the solution is equipped for use as both shopper-operated self-checkouts and as traditional POS stations. Sales employees can monitor the systems using an iOS-based control cockpit, such as an iPod or iPhone, and intervene whenever necessary.
