Dalton Utilities, based in Dalton, Georgia, has deployed a bill payment kiosk at the Loa Bakery in the city, according to a report by Dalton Daily Citizen. The kiosk is designed to allow residents to pay their Dalton Utilities bill and their television bill through OptiLink.

The kiosk has a scanner to read a customer's account number from a bill, and is designed to accept cash and credit cards. However, it is unable to return change so any excess cash will be credited to the next bill cycle.

"We know a lot of customers want to know how quickly the payment will show in their account," Dalton Utilities spokeswoman Lori McDaniel said. "Customers will be glad to know that payments made at the kiosk are posted to the account the same day and usually within 30 minutes."

The kiosk is capable of giving on-screen and spoken instructions in English or Spanish.
