SUNNYVALE, Calif. — Fujitsu Components America Inc. has added a new high-performance, mini-interface board series for its 24-volt, FTP-609 series of thermal printer mechanisms, which provide space-saving solutions for kiosks, POS, banking, medical equipment and other applications.
The new boards, which work with the FTP-609 series of two, three and four-inch thermal printer mechanisms, are 40 percent smaller and cost 20 percent less than the existing FTP-629DSL100 interface board series.
Designed to address advanced printing functionality and increased data communication speeds, the new FTP-629DSL300 series supports USB 2.0 and high-speed Serial RS-232C (up to 460 kilobites per second) connectivity, as well as 200 millimeter per second maximum print speeds.
To enable more compact end designs, the board footprint measures 70 millimeters long by 50 millimeters wide by 22 millimeters tall. A paper near-end sensor and jam sensor provide monitoring to reduce downtime.
