San Diego-based Fresh Healthy Vending International is planning to expand its franchise operation into New Zealand, reports New Zealand website Stuff.co.nz.
FHV delivers healthy food to schools, offices, community centers via franchised vending machines. The company has 200 franchisees and 2,300 machines in North America.
FHV is negotiating to secure a master franchisor in New Zealand who is willing to pay US$150,000 for the business, Stuff.co.nz said. The initiative is being led by business broker David Newport, who believes there is a gap in the New Zealand vending machine market for healthy snacks. Newport hopes to see five to 10 franchisees or 50 machines in New Zealand by the end of 2014.
