The French retail chain Franprix has teamed up with Western Union to deploy money transfer kiosks to 300 locations. This will enable customers to send or receive funds from more than 200 countries and territories, according to the press release.
At the kiosks, users can perform money transfer transactions and check their transaction history, validate their personal details and check foreign exchange rates. The goal of the kiosk is to provide a convenient self-service product for money transfer.
"Western Union's digital solution at walk-in retail locations is a win for all stakeholders: our customers get the convenience and control they want, and our retailers can offer more services with minimal space and staff requirements," said Odilon Almeida, president, Americas and European Union, Western Union. "It forms a part of Western Union's strategy to offer our customers multi-channel choice, suited to their specific money transfer needs, while delivering consistent customer service experience, of control, speed and reliability."
Western Union has also deployed its kiosks in the U.S., U.K., Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Mexico, Japan and Taiwan, according to the announcement.
