Flextronics, the manufacturer of Redbox DVD-rental kiosks, will shut down a plant in Granville County, N.C., according to a report on wraltechwire.com.
The Singapore-based company filed notice of the plant closing last week, with no word on the reason for the closure. The notice states that the Creedmoor plant will stop operation by the end of February, putting 157 people out of work, according to the report.
In May 2010 Flextronics celebrated the production of its 25,000th Redbox kiosk from the plant, and officials called the milestone a testament to the strong partnership between the two companies.
