Digital ordering startup, Flash Order, and POS provider, Square, have collaborated on an app for do-it-yourself self-order kiosks.
The app lets restaurant owners upload individualized menus onto a tablet or digital kiosk and diners can place and pay for orders without any assistance from staff, according to a report at Utah Daily Herald.
Small businesses using the technology told the Herald that it's being embraced by customers, as well as driving sales and letting staff members focus on food and interacting with customers.
"Flash Order is perfect for independent restaurant owners," Flash Order co-founder West Hafen told the Herald. "Kiosks can eliminate long lines, increase revenue, and with our DIY approach a location can be set up and ready to take customer orders in minutes."
The Flash Order app is available for Apple iOS.
