According to an article in the Dallas Observer, gas pumps at select Texas Shell stations have gained a companion — Sonic quick-service food kiosks.
Sonic is known for its relationship with automobiles. Carhops on roller skates delivering food orders window-side became the signature gimmick of the drive-in chain. But offering a fill up of the belly along with the gas tank is a recent concept with temptingly sarcastic implications, according to the article.
There are currently seven locations around Dallas with the combined food and gas service, the article reported.
