Phoenix schools have deployed informational digital signage kiosks manufactured by SkoolLive Inc., according to a report by Phoenix Business Journal.
The kiosks keep students and faculty up to date with information about sports tryouts, school activities and other news. The 60-inch units are secured in cages and are designed for outdoor conditions.
Schools do not pay for the kiosks, but instead allow SkoolLive to display banner advertisements on the screen to help cover their cost. The company shares 30 percent of advertising revenue with the schools, according to the report.
"We understand and empathize with the sensitivities of exposing our young people to advertising messages, and we have built in numerous checks and balances to ensure high-quality brands and engagement value," SkoolLive Founder, President and CEO George Bruton told the business journal.
SkoolLive has deployed 71 kiosks in Arizona and 200 kiosks in other states.
