Digital newspapers coming to World Trade Centers

December 2, 2002

THE HAGUE, Netherlands -- Visitors to any of the 297 World Trade Centers around the world can soon print and purchase their favorite newspaper from PEPC's Newspaper Kiosk.

PEPC's Newspaper Kiosk uses satellite technology to digitally print the latest issues of 108 newspapers including USA Today (USA), The Los Angeles Times (USA), The Miami Herald (USA), Le Monde (France) and Times of India (India) said the company's press release.

The kiosk placements are a cooperative effort between the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) of New York and PEPC Worldwide of The Hague, Netherlands, a global distributor of national and international newspapers.

The first newspaper kiosks will be installed at the World Trade Centers in Barcelona, Spain; Boston; and Nice, France.

The kiosks feature a touchscreen menu, which guides users through a four-step purchase process. The newspaper will be printed in a black and white tabloid format and stapled within two minutes of purchase. Customers can pay with their credit card or a dedicated Kiosk-card.
