Deli kiosk eases shopping woes

Daily Southtown: Leaning on the grocery cart, waiting for someone at the supermarket deli to slice a pound of Krakus can seem like an eternity.

On a bustling Sunday, lines at Orland Park's Jewel-Osco deli - the largest store in the chain and one of the busiest - can stretch 40 customers deep.

But an experimental "deli kiosk" allows customers to bypass the counter crowd lining up for cold cuts and cheeses.
