Dartmouth Tuck's School of Business deploys self-checkout kiosks

March 7, 2024

Dartmouth's Tuck School of Business in Hanover, New Hampshire, recently deployed self-checkout kiosks from Mashgin. The school selected these contactless kiosks to offer a smoother checkout experience for students, according to a report by CStoreDecisions.

Students can place their items on the kiosk and it automatically scans them with AI-powered computer vision, eliminating the need for scanning individual items.

"We initially piloted Mashgin's technology in a 24/7 unmanned convenience store. Our students loved the technology and ease of use," Amelia Heidenreich, general manager of Tuck Dining and Catering, said in the report. "We decided to add a second unit to our dining hall to increase the speed of service, and we may consider deploying more."

"Our deployment at Dartmouth's Tuck School of Business helps to improve the checkout experience for countless students every day," Brandon Scott, VP of sales, Mashgin, said in the report. "While Mashgin has grown significantly in sports venues and convenience stores in the past few years, corporate and student dining facilities continue to be an important use case for Mashgin and one where we can save students and employees valuable time."
