Cybersecurity company Thales has announced the launch of its new remote-administration and management solution for nShield and payShield Hardware Security Modules. This solution is designed to provide enhanced security and administration capabilities for cloud-based deployments, according to a press release.
An HSM helps manage encryption keys for business applications and are usually stored in data centers, which are often located in inconvenient locations, according to the release. Thales saw there was a need for remote administration while maintaining security protocols. So its solution is designed to provide the ability to remotely manage HSMs.
"Increasingly we are seeing the move of data and applications to the cloud, and managing trust in these new environments brings operational and logistical complexities," Cindy Provin, president of Thales e-Security Inc., said in the release. "Remote Administration for nShield and payShield Manager expand on our previous remote-administration capabilities, meeting the needs and demands of our customers, in terms of ease of use and reduced operational costs as they look to manage trust in their critical business applications."
