Crystal Display Systems launches Android self-service tablet

December 1, 2017

Crystal Display Systems Ltd., a designer, distributor and value-added reseller of flat panel display solutions, has launched its N-series tablet. The Enterprise Android tablet is an all-in-one, self-service kiosk, according to a press release.

The tablet is modular based and allows customers to attach a functional module such as barcode, RFID or magnetic swipe.

Most of the offerings in the market currently are generic tablets, the release noted.

Consumer tablets have batteries, no fixations, exposed controlling buttons, no lockdown function and do not have LAN cables for security purposes. Consumer tablets change models frequently, leading to the cost of re-engineering, re-testing of software and the need to keep up with the latest consumer tablet models.

Enterprise tablets, by contrast, have mountings, are function specific, have lockdown software to prevent third parties from accessing the controls, and offer support for three to five years.

The N-Series kiosk also features remotely managed tablet software; 10-point PCAP touch technology (reflective glass); flexible CPU choice; increased security and durability with all controls featured on the back; as well as toughened tempered glass.

The tablet is equipped with embedded Wi-Fi and offers a 4G module enabling remote content on multiple devices as well as cable management. It also comes ready for options such as wall mount, tablet mount and shelf mount.
