Contactless payments a $724 billion market

ePaynews: The global contactless payments market is estimated at $724 billion, with the U.S. comprising the largest market ahead of Japan, the U.K. and Germany, according to a new Datamonitor report. In 2004, cash payments of below $25 in six key contactless retail sectors totaled $724 billion, with petroleum retail offering the most potential with $376.4 billion in low-value payments.
