Conference to examine retail kiosks

Interactive Kiosks for Retail, the first international kiosk conference organized by Access Conferences International, will look at how retail outlets integrate kiosks and how they can capitalize on the opportunities presented by in-store kiosk systems.

The conference, sponsored by Elo TouchSystems, will be held May 17 -  May 18, 2001 at the Dorchester Hotel, London.

Key conference speakers include Craig Keefner, publisher of Kiosks.org, John Purcell, vice president of marketing for Netshift Software, Maurice Byford, director of Solo Communications, David Abramson, of retail development for The Body Shop International and Jez D' Netto, online general manager of Tower Records Europe.

Keefner will be presenting "The Retail Workspace," on May 17. His talk will include market statistics, an overview of technologies that work and an overview of channel strategies.

On May 16, Francie Mendelsohn, president of Summit Research Associates, will lead a half-day workshop: "Internet Kiosks: Best Practices." Summit Research is a consulting company specializing in kiosks.

Other companies presenting include Eastman Kodak, Inter-Act Systems, Spar Uk Ltd, Tribeka Ltd and many others.
