Colorado county receives self-serve DMV kiosk

July 28, 2017

A new self-serve kiosk at the DMV in Grand Junction, Colorado could shorten the amount of time spent waiting in line to renew a license plate, according to westernslopenow.com.

Mesa County is the second county in the state to receive a kiosk under a pilot program.

Sheila Reiner, the Mesa County clerk and recorder, said the wait time in line at the DMV is nearly two hours. The kiosk will remove about 25 percent of the people that wait for service in the lobby.

The DMV estimated it serves around 700 people on its busiest days.
