Clemens Family Markets install kiosks in 20 stores

April 25, 2005

Clemens Markets Inc. is a family owned business serving the suburban Philadelphia community since 1939. Headquartered in Kulpsville, PA, Clemens Family Markets currently has 21 locations throughout Bucks, Montgomery, Delaware and Chester counties. Clemens holds the distinction of being the largest family-owned and operated supermarket chain in the Delaware Valley. Another distinction is the kiosk program they are in the process of rolling out.

Clemens Family Markets recently became the first store chain to roll out the new Healthnotes EasyAnswers Touchscreen kiosks in-store. At the kiosks, Clemens features EasyAnswers Touchscreens running Healthnotes Healthy Living to offer shoppers an interactive, up-to-date resource on health, food, nutrition, and lifestyle. The kiosk program has been rolled out to twenty of the twenty-one markets they own.

"Clemens Family Markets is in business to serve our customers and help our customers make informed lifestyle choices," said Jack Clemens, President and CEO for Clemens Family Markets. The company believes the kiosks are a win-win situation for both the markets and their customers. "The kiosks serve as reliable self-service resources that enhance the shopping experience for our customers, while also encouraging shoppers to buy more products, improving our bottom line," said Clemens.

The new touchscreen kiosk was designed specifically for retail use and features

eye-catching visuals and built-in user instructions. The kiosk is a "plug-and-play" unit that is easy for retailers to install and maintain. The Healthnotes kiosk application, Healthy Living, includes reliable, easy-to-understand information on health concerns, supplements, foods, nutrition, special diets, weight control, and more. It also offers hundreds of tasty, healthy recipes where shoppers need them most-at the supermarket. Shoppers can print the articles and recipes free of charge.

"Recent studies have shown that consumers look to supermarkets as a primary source for managing their health and want resources available to them in-store," stated Schuyler Lininger, HNI president and CEO. "Healthnotes is proud to now offer the new EasyAnswers Touchscreen, an engaging, consumer-friendly resource that leading-edge retailers like Clemens can easily integrate into their stores to provide shoppers with information at the point of decision."
