NEW YORK - Computer Automation Systems Inc. (OTCBB:CASX), in its first significant kiosk deployment, has begun shipping Circle K's ZapLink public-access kiosks to 41 of the convenience store chain's locations in the Philadelphia area.
The kiosks, which retail for about $11,000, are part of the first phase of Circle K's ZapLink deployment, which also includes the deployment of kiosks in the Phoenix area. Computer Automation is deploying the Philadelphia-area kiosks for project manager Global Access Alliance Inc.
The kiosks include Internet and e-mail access, telephone calls through a Voice Over Internet Protocol platform, and access to shopping specials and online games. Circle K officials said the second phase of the project will include about 500 locations nationally.
