A new Chase Bank branch in San Antonio, Texas will be among the first of the bank's locations to implement self-service banking machines designed to reduce lines and save time, according to an article on MySanAntonio.com.
The kiosks measure 14 inches by 18 inches and resemble vertical iPads, the article reported. The design of the touchscreen is large enough that customers have reported that they no longer need their glasses to do their banking, according to a Chase Bank press release.
"We have introduced this new technology in a handful of branches in other cities, and customer comments about their speed and convenience have been overwhelmingly positive," said branch manager Maria Church in the release.
Another feature at the new Chase branch is the instant-issue debit card machine, the article reported. Customers no longer have to wait a week to receive a bankcard by mail, instead receiving it instantly on the machine.
"Every time we have advances in technology, it provides us with the opportunity to develop new products for customers and hire new specialists," Church said in the article.
