Looking for free toilet paper in New York City? Charmin not only gave out toilet paper, but tote bags and T-shirts at a kiosk while a blue bear mascot posed for pictures at Washington Square Park, according to a Gothamist report.
All in good fun? Not according to some local artists who claim the promotion did not meet the park's restrictions on commercial activities. The department confirmed, however, that Charmin, a subsidiary of Procter and Gamble, received a permit for a $15,000 fee.
