LOUISVILLE, Colo. - With 2,600 charm styles to offer to customers, Rembrandt Jewelers has turned to kiosks as a way to showcase its complete line in jewelry stores.
The 30-year-old jewlery manufacturer, based in Buffalo, N.Y., has rolled out 11 kiosks at retail stores throughout the country. According to a news release from Kiosk Information Systems (KIS), which produced the kiosks, customers will use the kiosks to find specific charms. At the kiosk, the customer types in a search word, and the kiosk provides a printout of charms that match the search term.
More than 15,000 retailers offer Rembrandt Charms, most using a display case of the most popular charms and allowing customers to browse a printed catalog. Customers may place custom orders through the jewelry stores. With the kiosks, customers can take the kiosk printout with them and order charms from home via the Web.
The 11 cities chosen for the kiosk rollout are Raleigh, N.C.; Portland, Maine; Woodbridge, N.J.; Arundel Mills, Md.; Timonium, Md.; Bloomington, Minn.; Hartford, Conn.; Avon, Conn.; Baytown, Texas; Augusta, Ga. and San Francisco. The KIS release did not say whether more units are in the works.
Jennifer Hillman, communications director for Rembrandt, said the 2' by 2' kiosks are both informative and attractive.
"The finished product functions as an artistic accessory for the jewelry stores; yet, it also provides customers with all the information they need on Rembrandt's charms," she said.
