Canadian retailer finds its way to NCR kiosks

MONTREAL -- Canadian retail chain Les Ailes de la Mode, in a move to streamline and improve customer service, has installed 17 directional kiosks manufactured by NCR Corp. (NYSE:NCR). The kiosks, located at the chain's flagship downtown Montreal facility, assist customers in finding specific sections of the store.

Les Ailes has also installed 115 point-of-sale terminals and 115 barcode scanners at the store; all the units were manufactured by NCR.

Company officials said the technology would provide the level of performance and reliability the chain sought for improved customer service.

Les Ailes is a five-store chain offering fashion, beauty, and home-décor products. The chain is part of Les Boutiques San Francisco Inc., which operates 183 retail stores across Canada under eight different brand names.
