Halifax Stanfield International Airport has launched self-service baggage-drop kiosks, according to a press release.
The Canadian airport worked with airline partners to develop a luggage handling system that reduces long lines, part of a larger effort to modernize the airport for its more than 3 million travelers that passed through last year.
"With airline customer service agents available to assist passengers if necessary, this improved level of service speeds up the check-in process and makes it possible for passengers to avoid lineups at counters," said Joyce Carter, president and CEO of Halifax International Airport Authority. "We saw this as an opportunity to be an industry leader, offering an enhanced, time-saving service to our passengers."
