Calorie-counting kiosks hit college campus

November 3, 2011

Health-conscious students attending the University of Maryland can now compare the nutritional values of campus meals using two $2,500-touchscreen kiosks, according to the college's student newspaper.

The machines give calorie count, sodium content and overall nutritional value of each food item in the dining halls.

Previously, students could only access nutrition facts through the dining hall website.
