The Brantford Public Library in Ontario, Canada is celebrating the launch of its second self-serve kiosk, according to a Brant Beacon report.

The kiosk is located at the Sobeys Shellard Lane store, and is the third of its kind in North America to be installed in a grocery store.

"This kiosk is important because it's the realization of a goal that the Library Board has set to introduce more opportunities for people throughout the community, and in underserviced areas of the community, to engage with the library," Rae-Lynne Aramburo, library CEO and chief librarian, told the news outlet.

The kiosk, which holds up to 150 books, is available to anyone with a Brantford Public Library card. To borrow items, residents can scan their card and enter their PIN. Books can be returned to the kiosk as well.

The second kiosk is a precursor to the Brantford Public Library's future third branch, which is set to open in 2026.
