BRANFORD, Conn. -- BMW's virtual sales centers, powered by software from Netkey, Inc., brought home the gold for sales and brand marketing excellence.
The interactive kiosks were awarded two Gold Medals during the P.O.P. Show/New York "Design of the Times Gallery" awards Sept. 4-5, according to a Netkey news release. The show featured 16 retail-focused categories judged by a panel of more than 100 leading brand marketers and retailers from across the country.
BMW has deployed 350 virtual sales centers in its dealerships throughout the United States. The kiosks provide customers with a choice of DVD-quality videos that show every BMW series and model in action.
Earlier this year, BMW's kiosks won Gold honors at GlobalShop, the world's largest retail display show, for "Best Interactive Display." In August, Kiosk Magazine named the unit "Kiosk of the Year" and awarded it a gold medal for "Enclosure Design Excellence." The kiosk also received a "Design Excellence Award" from Kiosk Business Magazine.
Frank Mayer & Associates designed and constructed the kiosks' enclosures. Netkey provided the software, application design and remote management system. Reality Pictures created the multimedia video content and graphics, and Omni Tech Corp. provided the computer hardware.
