BlueLight.com boosts Web biz with two deals

RESTON, Va. and ATLANTA - BlueLight.com, the e-commerce company backed by Kmart Corp., struck a pair of deals designed to improve its online services.

The San Francisco-based venture that has installed 3,500 in-store kiosks in Kmarts will use Telia Internet Inc.'s network of local access numbers to provide dial-up service for its ISP. BlueLight's ISP has more than six million subscribers nationally, and claims to be the fastest-growing Internet service in the U.S. Telia, of Reston, Va., is a full-service facilities-based provider of Internet services.

BlueLight.com also announced it will use MediaBin Inc. of Atlanta to increase the speed of production of web images for products available online through its Web site. MediaBin will provide storage for images, and then produce the photos in web-ready files as needed.
