Blue Martini Commerce 6.5 integrates guided selling

January 19, 2005

SAN MATEO, Calif. - Blue Martini Software (NASDAQ: BLUE) is releasing Blue Martini Commerce 6.5 with Guided Selling, according to a news release.

Blue Martini Guided Selling extends Web sites and interactive touchpoints such as kiosks, point-of-sale devices, and mobile devices by guiding consumers and sales associates through the complexity of selecting products from large assortments with many features.

Taking digital cameras as an example, a retailer can use Guided Selling to help consumers more easily navigate through the rich feature set of different digital camera offerings, helping them select the product that best meets their needs. One consumer might start with zoom features while another might begin with picture quality. Blue Martini Guided Selling 6.5 lets consumers start with the feature most important to them and helps structure their choices as they decide.

"Over the past six years, consumer Web sites have evolved through improved browsing, personalization and search, but none of these advancements have helped guide consumers to select the right product or service," said Monte Zweben, chairman and chief executive officer, Blue Martini Software. "Guided Selling delivers on this vision, helping consumers select products more easily and quickly. Retailers who use Guided Selling will sell more than their competitors because they make the shopping experience easier for the consumer."
