Following a partnership in May with DIRECTV, Blockbuster launched sales of DIRECTV Systems in September in 3,800 company stores.
Interactive kiosks at each of the participating stores let customers experience live DIRECTV programming. Blockbuster is offering packages featuring one year of free rentals and a two-year extended service plan.
In 2001, Blockbuster and DIRECTV plan to offer a co-branded pay-per-view service on DIRECTV.
