BLOCKBUSTER Express to release 'Black Swan' on street date

Consumers can rent "Black Swan" from BLOCKBUSTER Express kiosks on March 29, which is the title's street date.

However, it won't be available at redbox or Netflix until April 26, due to 28-day embargoes imposed by Fox.

"Black Swan" from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment will be available for $2.99 on DVD for the first night and $1 per night thereafter at BLOCKBUSTER Express kiosks. It's also available on Blu-ray Disc for $3.99 the first night and $1 per night thereafter.

BLOCKBUSTER Express kiosks, owned and operated by NCR Corp., have been testing higher-priced new releases at 900 kiosks in four markets since last December with success, according to spokesperson Jeff Dudash.

"Beginning tomorrow this title will be available at all of our [nearly 9,000] kiosks nationwide," Dudash told Home Media magazine. "We have some other titles in the pipeline."

BLOCKBUSTER Express previously tested higher priced street-date kiosk rentals with Warner Home Video's Inception and Fox's "Knight and Day," "The A-Team" and "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps."
