According to Agence France-Presse, Beijing officials are working to revive the city's once-vibrant bicycling culture by launching a bike-share kiosk program aimed at getting 25 percent of the city's 17-million people on bicycles by 2015.
The kiosk project — in which cyclists use a swipe card to borrow bikes from kiosks located near subway stations and prime residential buildings — launched in March, and officials plan to have about 1,000 kiosks with 50,000 bikes for rent by 2015.
