The official launch of the Madison Wisc., bike sharing program isn't until June 1, but a few still-in-bubblewrap kiosks could be spotted this weekend on the capital square and in front of Monona Terrace.
The B-cycle Kiosks, built by KIS, started in Denver and are spreading throughout the United States. The kiosks won an Excellence Award from the DSA in April, and officially opened May 20 in Kailua, Hawaii.
The kiosks will also be in four other Madison locations, for a total of six initial kiosks.
Day passes are $10, and week passes are $30, but that only covers a 30-minute ride, after which you have to start paying extra. The yearly passes offered are $65 per year.
