Corona, Calif.-based custom kiosk designer AVT has signed a manufacturing agreement with Opticwash, a creator of self-service kiosks that clean eyewear and jewelry.
AVT said it may build up to 10,000 of the patent-pending kiosks for Opticwash over the next five years.
Opticwash kiosks clean and sanitize eyeglasses, sunglasses and jewelry, using reverse osmosis water and ultraviolet light.
The Opticwash system has been tested by the Army and Air Force Exchange Services and at a number of shopping malls, hotels, stores and airports, the company said.
Awards won by Opticwash include three gold medals at the U.S. Invention and New Product Expo for best design, best cleaning product and most entertaining system, as well as the Grand Prix Award for overall best new product.
"The market potential is enormous and we are pleased to have partnered with AVT, and look forward to their contributions in manufacturing and development," Bryan Myers, Opticwash's CEO, said in a statement.
Separately, AVT announced recently that it planned to pursue the vending of legal marijuana, Marketwatch reports.
