Avius Insight kiosk provides real-time guest feedback at San Diego Zoo

October 4, 2010

The San Diego Zoo has introduced the Avius Insight touch screen kiosk to allow guests to comment on their experience, provide suggestions for improvement and ask for assistance, all in real time, according to Insight kiosk creator Avius America.

Zoo director John Dunlap said the kiosk gives the zoo the ability to “know what and how our customers think and be proactive in our response to their needs and preferences, providing data that drives the current and future definition of our guest experience.”

Bournemouth, England–based Avius Experience and LPF Hospitality Performance joined to create Avius America LLC. The flagship product is the Avius Insight which uses both freestanding kiosks and soon-to-be-implemented iPad technology. It was introduced at the San Diego Zoo and its sister attraction, the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.

Avius America CEO Chuck Brown brings to his role more than 20 years executive expertise in hotel operations and corporate brand leadership. “Our technology becomes the conduit to help our clients gather critical guest intelligence, produce meaningful reporting tools and develop ancillary training and services that will ultimately help improve the customer experience and quality of product offerings," he said.

Avius America will showcase upgrades and additional functionality of Avius Insight, including the new iPad compatibility, at the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), in Orlando, Fla., Nov. 15-19.
