A Bangkok coffee shop is using a robot waiter, called PuduBot, to serves patrons without requiring any human interaction, according to a Yahoo.com report.

The PuduBot, from Pudu Robotics, is a shelf cart on wheels with a small LED display at the handle. The bot is equipped with positioning and navigation technology

Customers at Black Canyon Coffee in Bangkok order meals at the counter and are served by the PuduBot at a table. Staff load orders onto the robot's shelves and the robot transports it to the correct table. Sensors on the robot prevent it from hitting people or objects, according to the report.

More than 2,000 PuduBots have been deployed worldwide.

Pudu Robotics developed PuduBots to transport supplies in hospitals while protecting patients and staff from COVID-19. The robots have been at hospitals in Seoul, South Korea and Beijing, China.
