Automated parking to stay in Portsmouth, N.H.

Geo. J. Foster Company: After a one-year trial, the Portsmouth City Council in Portsmouth, N.H. voted to fully adopt the Pay and Display automated parking program. The program requires motorists to pay for parking at a kiosk and display the receipts on their dashboards. The program is credited with increasing payment options for parking customers, eliminating confusion caused by placement of meter poles and reducing the burden on downtown businesses in making change for bills.
