Australian store Bedshed installs interactive kiosk

September 6, 2012

The Australian mattress company Bedshed announced the introduction of an informational kiosk at one of its franchise locations, allowing customers to review marketing material, search for products and email catalogues, according to the announcement.

The kiosk, located at the store's entrance, features an interactive screen that displays national and local marketing content and reacts as customers approach.

"Bedshed's Joondalup store is now showcasing best practice ecommerce, and we’ve delivered this technology to customers before any other retailer," said COO at the franchise, Gavin Culmsee.

The ability to search products and create a customized PDF brochure makes the customer's shopping trip faster and easier, Culmsee said in the announcement.

The kiosk technology was provided by Melbourne-based Square Circle Triangle, and, according to company managing director Paul Wilson, the kiosk enables franchisees to better understand their customers.

"It shows how many people have interacted with the kiosk, for how long, the specials responded to and products searched," Wilson said. "This allows for deeper understanding of customer requirements, product insights and continuous improvement in bettering the customer experience."
