A sustainable water solution has arrived in Ijaiye, Oyo State Nigeria, thanks to the efforts of Fairaction International, an Australian NGO, according to a Nigerian Tribune report. In partnership with the Australian High Commission in Abuja, the organization unveiled a smart water kiosk equipped with a borehole, water treatment plant and solar power. The kiosk also utilizes IoT technology for remote maintenance.

Fairaction Director Yinka Adeoti emphasized the NGO's community-centric approach, telling the news outlet, "We don't just go into any community and start a water project; we engage with the people to understand their true needs." The kiosk, which will be managed by the community, charges a nominal fee for water to ensure its sustainability.

The project is part of Fairaction's larger initiative to address Nigeria's water crisis. The NGO has mapped over 1,600 communities in the region to identify water-related challenges and develop tailored solutions.

Local leaders expressed gratitude for the initiative, believing it will significantly improve the health and well-being of the community.
