PERTH, Australia -- pieNetworks Ltd. has signed an agreement with Queensland Investment Corporation (QIC) to install its pieLINK Internet kiosks in shopping centers across eastern Australia.
QIC owns nine shopping centers in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and the Australian Capital Territory, according to a pieNetworks release. The Internet and financial kiosk developer already had a presence in 27 Australian shopping centers; the agreement with QIC brings that total to 36.
"The success of pieLINK Internet kiosks was always going to be generational," said Campbell Smith, pieNetworks' managing director. "Like drink vending machines, ATMs and public phones, people are now appreciating the benefit a self-service Internet kiosk can add to a retail area by acting as a driver to maintain shopper preference."
