PORTLAND, Ore. -- Natural and organic foods retailer Wild Oats Markets, Inc. (Nasdaq:OATS) has integrated content from Healthnotes, Inc. (HNI), a provider of health and lifestyle information, on its newly redesigned Web site.
In addition, Wild Oats has incorporated Healthnotes Natural Knowledge touchscreen kiosks in all 99 of its stores.
According to a news release, Healthnotes is available free of charge on the Wild Oats Web site and on kiosks in the stores' Natural Living departments, which offer vitamins, herbs, supplements, body care products and homeopathic remedies. Customers can print the articles and recipes from the kiosks free of charge.
"Consumers today are more concerned than ever about their health. They need reliable resources available to them online and in-store to help them make informed purchase decisions," said Schuyler Lininger, HNI president and CEO, in the release.
"Wild Oats is continuously looking for ways to deepen our relationship with our customers," said Terry Maloy, chief marketing officer for Wild Oats Markets. "Incorporating Healthnotes both online and in-store helps position us as a leading resource for both products and information that support our customers' health and well-being."
Healthnotes has similar deals with several other retailers, including The Kroger Co., The Vitamin Shoppe and Raley's Superstores.
