Acnodes intros fanless embedded computer for digital signage, kiosks

Acnodes Corp., manufacturer of industrial and embedded computer platforms and technologies, launched its new fanless embedded computer, the FES8670.

Acnodes Corp., manufacturer of industrial and embedded computer platforms and technologies, launched its new fanless embedded computer, the FES8670. The computers is based on the fourth generation Haswell Processor and Q87 Chipset. It features a fanless design intended for video applications, digital signage, outdoor advertising, POS/kiosks and gaming.

The FES8670 enclosure is a rugged aluminum and heavy-duty steel chassis capable of deployment in temperatures from -40°F to 131°F. It includes VGA, DisplayPort and two HDMI out video interfaces, six COM ports, four Gigabit LAN ports, six USB 3.0 ports and audio for administration and software input. The FES8670 also has two DDR3 1333/1600MHz SODIMM memory maximum up to 16GB, one 2.5-inch SATA drive bay, one mSATA and one CFast slot for storage. The FES8660 provides two PCI Express Mini card slots and one SIM card socket designed for more efficient, seamless networking options.

The FES8670 measures 2.75 inches in height and includes optional wall mounting. It contains a built-in Watchdog Timer to reset the system after a crash or system error, and it is fully compatible with Windows Standard Embedded 7/8 and Linux.
