Alienware invades Best Buy retail locations

March 12, 2002

MINNEAPOLIS - Less than four months after making Alienware computers available over its Web site, Best Buy Inc. (NYSE:BBY) has responded to feedback from computer gaming fanatics and made Alienwaresystems available for purchase at its retail stores.

Using Best Buy's Computer Creation Station kiosk, customers can design their own Alienware systems and order them through the kiosk. The kiosk will also feature a pre-configured Alienware computer featuring a 2.0 GHz Pentium 4 microprocessor, 512 MB of RD-RAM, and a NVIDIA GeForce3 Ti 500 video graphics card.

Alienware computers are popular with gaming enthusiasts because of their speed, quality, and performance. Best Buy first made the computers available through its Web site last December, and company officials said Alienware's popularity with its customers convinced Best Buy to add the system to its Computer Creation Station.

Alienware computers are also available through the company's own Web site.
