The Montgomery County Commission, in Alabama, is considering the use of six self-service kiosks for car registration needs.

The kiosks would be placed at Publix grocery locations and at a probate office in the county, according to a Black Belt News Network report.

The technology effort has the support of a local probate judge but the county commission hasn't given the green light. One commission member isn't convinced the use would cover the potential $400,000 cost for a three-year contract.
