The San Antonio International Airport introduced two digital library kiosks as part of a joint effort between the airport and the San Antonio Public Library.
Users of the library kiosk have access to the library's catalog of digital downloads via touchscreen kiosks housed in the airport's two terminals, according to an airport press release. OverDrive, a digital distributor of books and other content, provided the kiosk software linking passengers to the digital library. The kiosks also feature rapid recharge stations for smartphones and electronic devices.
The library catalog is accessible for SAPL cardholders via the 55-inch interactive screen. The kiosks also issue temporary library cards for visitors and nonmembers, available from OverDrive.
The project is funded by the Friends of the San Antonio Public Library.
