Denver International Airport, Aruba's Queen Beatrix International Airport and Lynden Pindling International Airport in The Bahamas are the latest to install Automated Passport Control Kiosks, according to Acuity Market Intelligence.

"Today, there are 737 APC Kiosks operating in North America with another 164 targeted to go live by spring 2015. This is up from 280 In February 2014 and will bring the total number of APC Kiosks located in the United States, Canada, and now in the Caribbean, to 901 by early next year," said Maxine Most, principal at Acuity.

"APC Kiosk numbers will continue to grow rapidly as they migrate across the Americas to Europe, Asia, and the Middle East," Most said. "Acuity Market Intelligence projects the global market for APC Kiosks will reach 8,000 by 2018."

Canadian and U.S. passport holders and international travelers from 37 visa-waiver countries can use APC Kiosks to record biometric and immigration information before arriving at passport control. The kiosks have decreased customs wait times by 80 percent, Acuity said.

Vancouver International Airport, developer of the APC, remains in the lead with 18 airport deployments, "representing more than 60 percent of the total kiosk market share," with air transport communication provider SITA at second for 126 APCs at five airports.
