7-Eleven tabs remote software vendor for Vcom kiosks

February 20, 2002

MAHWAH, N.J. - Software and content solutions management provider Novadigm Inc. (NASDAQ:NVDM) has been selected to manage the software driving 7-Eleven Inc.'s Vcom financial services kiosks, which is currently being tested in 95 locations in Florida and Texas.

The kiosks, manufactured by NCR Corp. (NYSE:NCR), offer check-cashing and bill-payment services, along with event ticketing, access to telecommunications services, and other functions.

Novadigm's e-wrap technology platform will provide remote deployment and updating services - including advertising and promotional materials - for the kiosks. The technology will also update 7-Eleven's point-of-sale terminals and fuel pumps.

"Previously we used a semi-automatic software distribution product; it could take us up to one month to deploy new business services to all locations," Jimmy Pitts, 7-Eleven systems manager, said in a news release. "With Novadigm's fully automated, adaptive management solution, software deployments are six times faster and we can ensure that the server applications and content are always up to date and available to support the store business."

If the trial program is successful, 7-Eleven plans a nationwide Vcom deployment next year.
