7-Eleven launches Vcom rollout in Florida

November 14, 2002

ORLANDO, Fla. -- 7-Eleven Inc. (NYSE: SE) has launched its Vcom rollout with 49 kiosks in the greater Orlando, Fla., area, according to a company news release.

Vcom users can conduct American Express ATM transactions, purchase Western Union money orders and money transfers, pay bills through Western Union's Quick Collect payment service and cash checks through Certegy Check Services. Customers can pay for their services with cash by inserting as many as 30 bills at a time into the machine's bunch-note acceptor.

7-Eleven plans to install nearly 400 Vcoms in various U.S. markets before the end of this year as part of its initial 1,000-store rollout through the second quarter of 2003.

Orlando was chosen for the national launch because the area has a strong demand for the store's current financial products, such as money orders, according to the release.
